Unable to read KPH on speedo to dark

I have a autoquest 155on a Peugeot chassis. Have been to Spain and France but found it difficult to read the KPH during daylight hours. I have a mode for the dimmer but that is not operational due to the fact so I am told that there are two levels of instrument
panels for this van.  My point is that while driving abroad and not able to read the KPH correctly I could end up with a speeding ticket.  I feel that more of us who have this problem should flag it up to Peugeot UK because it is not fit for purpose and should
be modified.  I have phoned Peugeot and have got a second opinion and will be phoning Tuesday to try and get it sorted.
