Hi,
Now that we are retired, we are thinking of traveling in Europe for maybe a year. My problem is that I cannot find an insurace company that will cover my car, with the same level of insurance as the UK, for more than 180 days. Can anyone advise of an insurance
company that will give cover for my car for long stays (i.e. a year) in Europe? Has anyone done this? many thanks

If a non - UK registered vehicle stays in the UK more than 6 months in any 12 month period it needs to be registered here (https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/temporary-imports). I would expect a similar arrangement applies in other EU countries although you would need to check.
