I am probably speaking to the converted but have just booked a return trip Portsmouth / Le Havre using the above. The 12.00 arrives at 18.30 and the return leaves at 22.30 arriving at 8.00am. The cost saving over the Portsmouth St Malo route is significant
even when factoring in fuel and tolls. Whilst basic, the cabin is four berth ensuite, so a couple do not need to the upper berths.

Just thought it might be of interest to the more inexperienced travellers.
