A bit off the beaten track perhaps but has anybody been to Camping Acqua Dolce at Levanto looked at Google Earth access looks tight. Any info on sites between Rapallo and La Spezia would be welcome access and facilities being of particular interest. Looking
at a trip back to Italy stopping off at the Cinque Terre.

We stayed at River Camping in Spring 2012.  This is at the La Spezia end of the Cinque Terre, but it is an easy run to Lerici where there are regular boats going along the coast calling at
all the little ports.  Its a very nice site, good facilities, friendly and a nice restaurant/bar.  However we were there early season when it was quiet,  From the website it would seem to be a bit loud in high season.

We stayed at Sestri Lavanti, Mare Monti, an ACSI site. This is a glorious coastline BUT it is badly overcrowded even out of season and the sites are all very tight with small pitches. I can recommend this site but wish I could post a picture showing how
our caravan was perched on the tightest pitch imaginable! Even motorhomes came and went because they couldn't fit into the pitches available.

Sestri Lavanti is one of several railway stations where you can pick up the coastal train and hop on hop off. After a while you get fed up with souvenir shops, bars and restaurants because the villages survive on tourism. Stunning though.

It's ten years since we visited and we understand that a lot of restoration work has had to have been done to the coastal paths in recent years. The campsites may have been improved, but as hitchglitch has said, we found the pitch sizes not too generous. Here's our account of our visit to Cinque Terre

Here's a link to the Cinque Terre national park

Camping La Sfinge was where we camped.
