ATC battery drain

During a 36hr. ferry crossing is it worth disconnecting the c'van from the car to save battery drain from the ATC unit. [ ie. How much current does an ATC use? ] On our last trip some drivers did disconnect while others didn't. Some drivers had dirty knees
from the car deck while the others didn't !!
