Hi All,

I holdiayed with my parents in Esterel in the 80's and 90's and really loved it.

Has it changed much ?  From recollection there was not an area for football as the site was too hilly which is important to my lads.

Anyone been to La Baume and can pass comment from a caravanner's perspective.

Most the reviews on Trip Advisor come from people who have hire local accomodation on site.

As a guage, we have holidayed in Sequoia Parc, Royan and La Garangeoire, near Sables and we really lovely both.... but I really want to head south next year.

Please advise / comment on suitability for lads 12 & 13.

I would love to give my kids similar memories as my parents have given me .....

Many thanks all.

Michael

Have you looked on the UKCampsites website at their extensive reviews on French campsites. I would tend to ignore Trip Advisor for the reasons you have discovered and it also seems open to bogus reviews.

    Reviews from
    UKCS here
but the latest is from 2013. Reviews are not particularly good and as a caravanner ourselves now (rather than staying in Eurocamp accommodation) I don't think it would be my first choice of sites in that area as I remember small caravan pitches,
and steep access to some of them.  However, there are lots more reviews on
    Zoover
(a Dutch review site) and the sites rates better on there.

We too holidayed there in the eighties and nineties, so you may well have met our son there.  I remember him going off and collecting plastic bottles as you got a few cents each for them in a machine.  I also remember him saving up each of these few cents
and buying hideous plastic monsters for another 'machine' in the bar area!
