Swift colony box

Seen today near Trumpington a tall substantial pole with a 'house roof' on top with boxes in its eaves for at least 20 pairs. Lots of swift noises coming from it and a few adults in the air near it! Never seen the likes before, great idea! Anyone seen similar?

    Can't say I've ever seen this contraption, Micky, but did see multiple boxes put up at the top of a 4 storey building, just for Swifts. 

    The post box is a great idea

    as there is a huge amount of new home building activity in the area, Abode, Aura, Meadows etc which include community and environmental projects including schools, allotments, nature reserves and leisure facilities I just wondered if this was part of the project. It certainly looked substantial, expensive and a well designed thing, I only wish I could post a photo!
