Advice on South Germany/West Austria/North Italy

Hello

I am a first timer to Europe (hopefully August) and a single parent with two girls aged twelve and fourteen. My first question is where might be a good place to stop off between Calais and Lake Constance.

Second question is any recommendations at all - beautiful places, veggie food, fun activiies (we are adventurous)

Third question - I am fine with heights if I am up a big hill/mountain without a steep climb and hairpin bends or looking over the side of a big drop. Are these places clearly marked on maps and is there any where to avoid on the route from Lake Constance
to Wahlensee to Salzburg to Bled to Venice to Elbe to Zurich and home?

Fourth question - best ferry deal
