There have been some disturbing incidents just recently. Some dogs have died because the car deck has overheated and when the ferry company says that the dog is not allowed to leave the vehicle under ANY circumstances they mean just that. Most of us would
assume that in a genuine emergecy common sense would prevail but NO.The best advice I can give is to look at canwetakeourdog.com Click on advice then ferries. Not all car decks are ventilated. Not all car decks are patrolled. Kennels are frequently on the car
decks. On the short channel crossings eurotunnel is the best by a country mile.On longer trips some things do pick up.Red Funnel for instance, states categorically that it has ventilated car decks which are regularly patrolled. Cost to transport your dog? Nothing.
Brittany ferries can be quite good too.
