Securing bikes etc on pitch

If, on hardstanding pitches, the Club was to replace the current marker pegs by metal posts each with an eye bolt attached, how many people would make use of this for securing bikes, BBQs, spare wheels etc? Obviously the posts would have to be securely anchored in the ground and we would need to supply our own padlocks and chains. Do you think it would be an advantage on site or an unnecessary expenditure for the Club? In terms of cost, I don't think it would be much different to putting up a fence post. It would also do away with accusations of people moving pegs but the downside would be any damage you might cause yourself when pitching if you're not accurate when siting the van!
