Grenoble to Aix en Provence

We are travelling to France in early July and wonder if anybody can advise us on travelling to Aix en Provence via Grenoble, Gap and Sisteron. We have to be in Aix en Provence at the end of July and fancy a change from our usual route from Lyon down the
A7. We have never been to Grenoble or Gap and wonder if the roads are suitable for our outfit and whether members can recommend campsites en route. We tend to like quieter sites and are perfectly happy staying on municipal sites. Les Pres Hauts at Sisteron
is one possibility but we are very open to all suggestions. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you in anticipation.
