How do you post a Link as a link?

Forgive me if this is a well covered topic but a browse trhough this section hasn't shown me so far.

I want to post a link so it appears as hyperlink text (a word or a short phrase) and readers can click on it to open a new window and see it, without losing their place in  Club Together.

Simply pasting in a url doesn't do it.

Am I being dumb?
