French Belgium border checks

on Wednesday we travelled from Zebrugger into France along the coast motorway to Dunkirk, cannot recall the road number. At the border we went into a single lane & was then taken off the motorway slip exit, around a roundabout and back onto the motorway
again. There were lots of police & army present at the roundabout looking at the vehicles as they passed. I guess this was some form of border control & possibly intelligence led observations. A short delay for us but good to see some attention being paid.
Thought I would just share it with those who like us may have chosen not to go via Calais this time. Regards. Roy.
