French and Spanish toll roads

I cant seem to find a definitive answer to the following can you use euro pre paid debit cards issued in uk to pay for tolls on french and spanish toll roads please I only need a yes or no thanks

    I was told NO but I have never tried it. Always used a credit card or cash.

    No - and on the best pre-paid card websites there is a paragraph stating they should not be used at toll booths or in automatic pumps at fuel stations.

    Sorry i was not clear on the type of card its the mastercard one from the post office where you load stirling but the card is in euros it is with clydsdale bank as far as I can see it is highly recomended for getting cash from atm's and works the same as
    any credit or debit card if their is no money it does not work, their is nothing in the small print about not using it anywhere not like the caxton and fx cards you do not need authorisation, if their is a problem at tolls i will just use cash thanks

    I now have an answer to this after a great deal of searching, it is not advised to use the card for some toll roads so i won't chance it and  will have to use cash thanks for everyones help

    We have a Caxton pre paid card and ss ValDa says it tells you not to use them, we found that out after we had tried to use it on the Millau Viaduct.
