New to caravanning - c-max2.0 2011 towcar any good?

Hello,

I have taken the plunge and bought my first caravan, collecting end of Feb, however, I don't have a suitable tow car. I have been looking at a ford c-max (the newer shape one on an '11 plate 2.0d). The club matching service says that it is a suitable tow
for my sprite alpine 2, but this is statistics only, does anyone have practical knowledge of this car for towing?

I am also looking at  the grand c-max if I can get one at the right price, this might be better for a complete beginner, as it is a little heavier?
