Problems with a one year old Thetford Fridge.
We bought our caravan - a Sprite Alpine 4, just over one year ago. So far we have taken it to three sites in the UK and three sites in France. On one of the sites in the UK we had problems one evening with the Thetford Fridge.model N3112. The five coolant
level lights began to flash. The manual advises to contact the Thetford Service Centre.if this occurs. We decided to run the fridge on gas and deal with the matter when we got home. A service was due on the caravan shortly afterwards and we told our servicing
agent (who also sold us the caravan) about the problem. They tested the fridge and could find no fault. They put it down to a large number of people on the site using the electicity at the same time.
We have just returned from France where we had the same problem several times, so we switched to using gas. On moving sites the fridge stayed on electricity for a couple of days and then repeated the problem Again we put it onto gas. We woke one morning
to find all five lights flashing even on gas. As this was towards the end of our holiday we left our food in the camp shop fridge and turned our fridge completely off. When we returned in the evening after a day out the fridge seemed to be cooling even with
every thing turned off.
Our dealer who have the caravan have been doing extended tests on the ffidge on both gas and electricity as advised by Thetford but cannot find anything wrong.
Has anybody else experienced this with their fridge?
