first time towing in france HELP

Hi we are taking our 3 foster children and 3 grandchildren to disney in Aug ferry crossings and sites booked, but any advice would help us, we are not sure what route to take and if its possible to avoid the toll roads ??? any good stop off places, all booked
but a bit worried now. many thanks kev
