Why are my response times so dreadful?

I don’t know what to blame, but the response I get while using CT is sometimes extremely slow and it seems to ‘hang’. If I switch to another site, on another tab, everything else seems to be working fine so I assume it’s some kind of bottle-neck at the CC
end.

Surely it cannot be due to the number of users? They boasted having dealt with 1,000s on frenzy day and I can’t believe there’s ever as many as 100 on CT at any time.

If I do a search, the results suggest that it took a fraction of a second to complete and yet, in that time, I’ve had time to drink my cuppa. Am I being singled out?
