Is it better to heat with electricity or gas?

Now here’s a thought to ponder: Is it better to heat with electricity or gas? It all depends on how you measure “better”, of course.

The facts suggest that it takes around three times the gas needed to provide 1kWh of electrical power than it does to provide the same energy by burning the gas directly on a hob. So are you looking after the planet if you use an electric kettle rather than
a gas one to make your cuppa?

I don’t think so. You are wasting energy.
