What are your favourite things to do abroad?

When we visit Spain, one of our many favourite things is to browse in a Chinese bazaar of which most towns have at least one! You can get everything from a sledge hammer to a knitting needle and all very cheap! For motorhomers or caravanners in need of a
roll of duct tape, tiewraps, or a new plastic bucket, these shops are a must. The quality may be a bit 'iffy' if you're buying tools, but it's all there when you need it.Also a joy can be 'ferreteria'. In Spain, every town has one and it's where you can buy nuts and bolts, have keys cut, and find every bit of ironmongery you might need.

On the urbanisation where we have our apartment, the Chinese bazaar is the biggest shop there with its own car park. As you say, they stock virtually everything.

Take in as much of the area I'm staying in on foot, exploring coastlines(I don't do Citys). The ultimate joy being eating outside, preferably watching the Sun go down doing so, good food, good company & good weather. Joys of life

One great thing to do is get involved with some local activities. One of our most memorable and enjoyable nights was in Limoux, near Carcassonne in France. They produce a local sparkling wine and held a festival in the market square. We bought tickets at
a local bar and sat down that evening at tressel tables with the local populace communicating by stumbling through rusty O level French and hand gestures. The food and wine was excellent and the party carried on well into the night under the starry skies.
Magical memories!0
