Not long been back from Chatsworth. Motorhome absolutely filthy so had to wash the front, sides and back but will tackle the roof another day. They have changed the system to visit the Christmas Show at Chatsworth since our last visit. You have a timed start
to your tour. Not sure it helps as we still had to wait halfway round for the previous tour to clear space!!! The show was OK but not as good as the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe a few years ago.

Had a blitz on the ironing while the OH visited the dentist. That's all my shirts and trousers done ready to pack for the cruise now.

After a quiet afternoon, it has turned into a busy evening. We had one delivery in Shoreham and its been non-stop since. Nevertheless, we managed to get some time earlier this afternoon to do some shopping. We bought some mulled wine in Tesco and some assorted
    cheeses with assorted biscuits.

Got confirmation from 1 of our last 2 sites to be booked today, t'other doesn't open and take bookings until 1st.January. All CLs and an Independent site. Getting as bad as Nellie!Wink
No booking frenzy day for me. May (or may not) use a CC site early in New Year and last thing but probably won't bother otherwise.

Hey, We haven't even started to think about where we want to go next year yet. As I've said before there's still sites we've not yet booked for this trip yet. However we do like to book quite a few on the trot so as we have a fair idea of where we're going,
especially over the Mayday & Springbank holiday periods.

Hope your appointment at the dentist went without mishap, WN.

A dark miserable morning following rain during the night. Just a couple of walks from the van before lunch and another in the afternoon when it had cleared upa bit. Wasn't worth going anywhere in particular. All ready for the move on to Southport CC site
    tomorrow.

It's very mild here too as well as being grey and overcast this morning. We've just finished doing the accounts for yesterdays deliveries. We were too tired to do it last night as we were still doing deliveries up to half past ten last night.

Woke up at 6.30am whith sore throat and rheumy eyes. Went to visit my youngest daughter last Saturday and so what did I expect! Not going away until Wednesday so hopefully better by then.

Just pop out and put fridge on in the caravan and turn heating up so that I will pop in later and clean.

Just a quick note to say sorry I'm not around much at the moment.  It's the same old chaotic December with concerts, practices and services coming out of my ears!!  I'll post when I can, but thinkin about you all.

Grey warm and overcast here uninspiring . Meeting with an ex colleague at lunchtime, so just doing basics and checking out on here.

I see from Rochelle's thread we'll be off air over the weekend and with luck when were back it'll be new and improved . Thus I wish you all a lovely enjoyable weekend and all those of you off on your travels have a great time! Just in case I don't get

Very dull and overcast first thing, a bit brighter now but doubt we will see the sun today. Still mild for December. Just had the boiler man come and do its annual service, at least this time they didn't cancel the appointment without telling us.Smile

Suitcases packed x 2, overnight case packed, just got OH's flight bag to sort out and we are done. Suitcases are both light by a couple of kg's Smile now what else can I find to pack Wink

Not at all nice here today, rain, overcast, some wind, temperature neither low nor high.

Got 9 new wood venetian blinds for our sun room delivered yesterday, so that will take me a while to deal with.

Tonight I have been engaged to drive DD to her work Christmas do, only one way as she will get a taxi home.

Meantime, she is apparently sitting at her desk grinning from ear to ear as her boss has just told her she has been given a 20% pay rise!

Yesterday we finally got down to writing all our Christmas cards, so I need to print up a few "wedding photos" to enclose. And soon I need to compose my annual Christmas e mail to our various far flung friends and more distant relatives.....always a lengthy
    chore!

Had my right hip replaced about seven years ago. It was so worn that I was literally lop sided when I walked or should that be limped!!! The operation has made an amazing difference to me and hopefully will do the same for your wife. No bad thing waiting
until Spring for the operation, not such a good idea to have it done when there is the possibility of snow and ice!!!

I know I ought to have done it weeks ago, but today I've made a Christmas cake. I've been using the same recipe since we married in 1970, and baked in a tin my Nan had the local blacksmith make in the 1920's. There's too much mixture for a normal bowl so I use a large stoneware crock and my hand (no spoon or beaters). It will go in the bottom oven of the Aga tonight for about 8 - 10 hours. Give or take an hour or two.

Maybe this will get me in a more Christmas frame of mind. I've bougot all the presents but my heart isn't really in it.

Ooh the smell of Christmas cake cooking, that will be good! I'm approaching the marzipan and icing bit, one for us, one for our son.

Husky I hope your wife will have much improved health when the op gets done.

I have had a morning out looking at the Christmas display at our local garden centre, the owners wife gave a talk to our gardening club recently about the way the buying is done for the displays. I walked round seeing it in a different way, especially knowing
that not everything comes over in container ships from China. The tinsel is made in Wales and most of the glass baubles are from Poland. Unfortunately my purse flew open and I came back with more stuff!! Wink

Have just been with Mr H for his consultation about his catarct op.  It is now all booked for 13th January.  The consultant then took him by surprise by saying that he would book him in to do the other eye 2 weeks later! Very quick service all round as he
only had to wait about 4 weeks from the referral from the optician to today's appt so all done and dusted in a couple of months.  I don't think we will be going anywhere with the caravan now until well into the new year.  We shall probably look at going away
for a few days in March hopefully.
