Wow this booking day is a nusicance. Just wanted to check out sites and CLs recently reviewed. Really attractive page telling me 'we're getting ready for 2017'. Can't check out site or review. This goes to show the importance of the handbook and map. What's
the use if a website thgthgats out iuf action for hours for a routine task like booking or site surfing???

For the life if me I cannot see the sense in not allowing bookings to be continuous without a cut off and frenzy day.

Had a similar problem my self to night, and agree completely about continuous booking

And I prefer the present system. Makes my planning so much easier. We are all different.

I'm a great planner, not always on holidays this late in the calendar year for next year unless its a big trip. When we worked, our annual leave didn't start until April so December frenzy is useless in those circumstances. Unless you book and cancel .
Seems to be designed to allow that with no penalties, no I don't want to get into a discussion about the pros and cons of that! I wish you luck with your booking. My biggest gripe is how much it affects the rest of the site. It seems every resource is needed
for it whereas continuous twelve months leaves everything ticking over.

It is the way the CC choose to do it, so we just have to accept it or cease to be members.

I've just booked for next years Christmas and New Year at Baltic Wharf, Bristol. We'll be there from Thursday 21st December 2017 to 4th January 2018 and we've got an awning pitch so that we can put our awning up.

I had to click on Easy Book and keep clicking until access to the booking system is available. I started clicking at 8 a.m. and was in by 08:15 to complete my booking. The system works, you just have to be patient! The Bristol site is hard to book at any time of the year, let alone Christmas and New Year! So I'm over the moon that I've got it sorted!

Good one Malc, glad you got what you wanted Smile I'm staying away from the booking sysem and will take my chances nearer the date of decision.

Good luck Triky with the MOT, and don't work too hard.

Grey and a bit dismal in East Yorkshire, but warmer with no frost.

After completing my booking, we had breakfast and I'm now relaxing in the caravan lounge area with the sun coming through this morning. Our caravan front window is facing south so that we can get the sun all day and given that the hours of daylight are so short at this time of the year, you just have to make the most of it for those few hours!

I think the art of winter caravanning is to position the caravan where you can get the maximum amount of daylight. On most cls and css you can choose which direction to pitch your outfit.

The site we are using at the moment is in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the South Downs National Park, yet only 5 miles from the Worthing town centre and long stay is permitted here.

It's £13 per night including electric hook-up. The site owner collects payment weekly in arrears.

Well, I was ready and set up by 7.30. I clicked on my shortcut to the site and made sure I was logged in. I knew what I wanted and as the time ticked by I periodically refreshed the screen, and as the grandfather clock in the corner struck the hours, I clicked
and booked - tickets to see Squeeze at Harrogate next October!

Who cares about caravan booking when you can get tickets in the pre-sale for my husband's favourite band

Good to hear that you didn't suffer too much, papgeno, either with the removal of the staples and at the physio's. Your wound must be healing nice now.

    Write your comments here...

Thanks. Yes it's looking good. The surgeon I had leaves the clips in for 14 days whereas most of the others have them taken out after 10. The physio said that his wounds are always good.

A balmy 8C on the East Coast this morning.  Listening to Chris Evans and he was talking about a chap called Max Woosnam, never heard of him so goggled. Sounds like a great guy that some of our modern day sports peeps could take as an example.

It's when you start pondering the wisdom of two for one when shopping, you have to worry.

We were at a folk gig last Sunday - and the chorus to one of the songs (Hampshire Mummers Song), whilst sung along with gusto by the audience - has a sombre note.

Then bring us some of your Christmas ale,
    And likewise your Christmas beer;
    For when another Christmas comes
We may not all be here.

Husky glad you're down safe and sound. Hope lights all work and you don't have to get up there again until they have to come down

I have to confess to once being the biggest tomboy going. Could climb the trees as high and often faster than the boys. Something happened with childbirth and I'm terrible with heights now. Wouldn't even attempt what you've done . I -'perform' in a similar
way if I have to go into the loft. Four times in 30 years!! I got wobbly when my children climbed a slide, worse with granddaughter . My kids didn't know until I confessed a couple of years back so I hid it well .

Wow - 16° and back to shorts and shirtsleeves for today's walk! Happy

And a very exciting day for us as we've just agreed a deal to upgrade our static to a newer model for next year ( not brand new unfortunately, some of the prices at the "boutique" site just up the road are simply eye-watering!). Staying in the same small
family run site, so keeping all the same neighbours and friends we've made over the past 5 years. So that's our "block booking" done for 2017.
    Wink

Can't wait for January to come round now! Happy
