Write your comments here...The fuel card company manages all that. It's all part of their service. Like they say on their website, they are HMRC approved.

Been really busy since getting home from Cornwall ,  trying to catch up at work  and all the washing and caravan cleaning. Think I've finally caught up, and the van has been returned to storage  No more trips now until December Sad

Bet you're glad the van's all cleaned up. I've still that pleasure to look forward to in about a week's time. Have you sorted out a site for that trip?

Yes, it was good to get the van cleaned ,  mind you by the time we had towed  it back to our storage, the front was filthy again!! Yell We are
staying at Castleton as our son and his girlfriend are staying in the village, not stayed there before.

Malcolm, working for a haulage company, all our drivers have fuel cards, Velocity being one of them, although ours are under a different name. I deal with the invoices and Vat is shown on them, we pay the vat and then as the company is vat registered the
vat is claimed back, on a Vat return.

The fuel card companies always quote their prices "net" but vat is charged on fuel. It looks like your card is free for a limited time, but they usually also charge a fee for having the cards.

    It still works like that.

Where do we go from here though?  Is there anything better than not paying VAT when you aren't VAT registered?

Can I say what I was up to on Wednesday?  We went to see the 'Weeping Window' of poppies at Caernafon Castle (similar poppies to those at the Tower of London in 2014).  It was great and quite moving, as were the tribute poppies placed in the ground by members
of the public.  There were not just the normal Crosses, but the Crescent, and the Star of David, each in memory of someone who died during the First or Second World War.  The area set aside for them has already extended to a much wider area of the lawned ground.

The day was beautiful, and the new marina/wharfe/Victoria dock area of Caernafon is lovely.  We parked in Morrison's car park, and walked around the marina to the Castle. The sunset over the Menai straights was spectacular too.  It's definitely worth a visit
if you are anywhere in the area, and it's free of charge to go in and to have a look around the Castle.

Back home to Abersoch, then out for a meal at the Sun at Llanengan (excellent food and definitely worth a visit) and then took part in the pub quiz, coming second!!!  We've booked to go back for my friend's (special) birthday in December.  A great day all
    round.

It is getting ridiculous, no one fron CC management seems to be interested in sorting this out. Moderators have stepped in with advice to no avail, it will carry on til the bitter end and everyone will be put off posting on here. I thought this forum was about the leisure industry, holidays and touring not someone's questionable personal saga that changes on a daily basis. Am I complaining, yes loud and clear! We've been here before with one or two previous trolls and it's not good for any of us. We're the losers with this one. I miss seeing the friendly chat, it's getting more difficult to post because of the constant verbal bombardment, 24 hours of it on occasions.

Sounds a wonderful day out ValDa.  We did The Tower ones, truly moving.  I have heard nothing about this one, or others if they exist?  Possibly because we are about as far away from Caernafon?! Never been to Caernafon that's now added to the list.

A post of use, pleasant to read and learn from. Smile

The Poppies (Weeping Window and Wave) are touring the UK up until the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1. There are locations available on the website:
1418Now which gives you the locations throughout 2016, 2017 and 2018.

It's definitely worth a visit if the exhibition is in your area.

After a short journey from Littlehampton CC site, we are now back at Northbrook Farm for the last three nights of the season. We haven't been so lucky with the weather though. It started raining just as we were about to hitch up and rained throughout the
journey and on arrival at Northbrook Farm. So we checked in whilst it rained and pitched whilst it was still raining.

I'm just putting together our son's partner present.  She is a great handicraft doer although time is very limited.  Last year I saw a wonderful panel which would make a super Christmas cushion, sort of thing you're unlikely to buy for yourself.  Didn't
buy it (boy do I regret that now???).  Nothing available in our craft fabric or haberdashery shops so decide on DIY kit.  Yesterday I bought two cushion inners, half a metre of christmas material - spoilt for choice! decided on cream background black outlined
small robins with just the red breast (very tasteful I could well be back to buy more for myself but I'd choose something different mustn't copy!) infinitely cheaper than the panels
Surprised) plain red for the reverse and a reel of red cotton.  All she has to do is the sewing, when the opportunity arises before next
Christmas (Her and our son are off to visit our daughter and family in NZ and spending New Year's Eve in Sydney with previous work friends who moved there about 3 years ago.  I digress, but since its Christmas here work for her on 27 & 28th that will be the
reason they won't appear before next year!).  She is not a machine sew-er (had to put hyphen in otherwise not a nice word
Wink) but inherited her late Grandmother's sewing machine last year and hasn't used it yet.  I thought this would be a great simple project to get
her started.  Have packaged up to look attractive, material making a star shape on the top of the cushions.  Needed to hold altogether - yep red ribbon.  Several attempts, it's not a solid shape thank goodness for long pins and YouTube visits (how many ways
are there to tie a bow???) It looks beautiful.  Now to put it in the cellophane bag I bought and wrap properly in Christmas paper.  I do hope all my presents don't take this long
Laughing to do as I've been a couple of hours already.

Wish I could post photo to show you how attractive and festive it looks - but you'll have to use your imagination
    Sealed

We are off to visit them tomorrow and stay over, a first usually do there and back in a day, but hubby's birthday and we are invited to firework do there too, so not sure if we'll see them again before Christmas day

It may be raining today but the forecast is for fair weather tomorrow which should be good for the firework display on the Worthing sea front. We are hoping to be able to see some of it in between deliveries!

We went to do our weekly shop this morning a journey of about 9 mlies each way. On the way there three people pulled straight out in front of me without looking or slowing down. On the way back a minicab driver cut straight across me to turn right and missed
me by a matter of feet. Either the standard of driving is getting much worse or I had the invisibility cloak on. Oh and in the supermarket a couple of elderly ladies also tried to run me down. I'm staying put for the rest of the day.

It's still raining here. We've got a different pitch this time. Our front window is overlooking some very colourful golden Autumn trees with a carpet of Autumn leaves on the ground underneath.

Thanks for your post ValDa. It sounds wonderful. I went to see the poppies at the Tower of London with my cousin 2 years ago and found it a very moving experience. So many lives lost and so many people who lost loved ones. Thank you for the link to the website.
    I knew nothing about it.

Fun stuff finished for now. Grabbed washing in as it started to rain, just about finished. Now raining steadily, exactly what our land needs. Shame the beautiful weather had to end. Still firework night tomorrow so should have been expected. Still feel like
cold coming . Lunch was a smoked mackerel sandwich with horseradish and large side salad. Now settling down with my accounts, deep joy! After this delight I have the ironing. The excitement in my life knows no bounds
