Travel to Lake Garda in may-June
Hello; my wife & I are planning to travel to Lake Garda in late May-June over a 4 week period. We have some flexibility in dates and are thinking of crossing via the shuttle then driving thro' France to Italy. This will be our first time taking the caravan
(Eriba Familia) abroad, although we have driven in Europe a lot on other hols. I see from other discussions that the general advice is not to bother about booking sites, but does this also apply to Lake Garda please as I know it is a popular holiday destination?
Also I see there are various routes to Lake Garda, some through Switzerland, some Austria, but we were thinking of travelling to Grenoble then to Torino and onto Lake Garda. Is this a good route please?
I was hoping hoping to avoid the toll roads where possible, but I am not certain if I will end up struggling thro' city centres or busy ring roads if I choose non-toll roads?
