How does that work?
Looking at a local weather forecast and it tells me that Thursday is going to be warm, bright sunshine, no cloud with a 30% chance of rain.........What
Didn't know that rain could fall without a cloud being present, so is this a new
phenomenon or is the weather forecaster just covering their backsides?

Believe me it can happen, without a cloud in the sky (or at least the area of sky that you can see). We were sitting on our roof terrace, under a completely blue sky, with a hot sun, and suddenly it started to rain. Wet rain, not just a 'mist'! We looked
up to see where it was coming from, and nothing was visible at all. Somehow it rained out of a totally blue sky, and it was enough to wet our roof terrace and cause water to run down the roof tiles.0 -

I was working on a flat roof a few years ago. Brilliant sunny day, not a cloud in sight, perfect day for the job in hand.
Halfway through the job we got a short shower of rain, enough to totally wet the roof!

Sorry folks, there's only one place that rain comes from and that is clouds. The cloud reaches a point when it cannot contain the moisture that formed the cloud any more....and it falls as rain.
That's how it works.
Valda....you might want to have a word with your neighbour about turning down his lawn sprinkler!
