Risk of explosion
I purchased a new Swift Bolero 682 FB last year. Recently whilst driving home there was an enormous bang. Investigations shown the positive leisure battery lead was broken.Upon further investigation it shown that the battery clamp had been over crimped and by doing so had broken core strands of the lead, causing the cable to overheat and explode. I contacted the dealer who said it was not covered by warranty and I should go to my local garage. I had a local man carry out the repairs, as I was off on holiday again. I then contacted Swift who confirmed it was definitely warranty work. They are carrying out investigations into the crimping. I have since been back to the dealer, who refuses to reimburse me. He also had the audacity to say that if I hadn’t had the work done by a NCC approved workshop, that my warranty would be null-en-void. I know where I won’t be going for any future motorhomes!!
Swift owners beware. Check your battery leads. This is a potential fire and injury risk
