Route to Alsace-Lorraine

We're planning an Autumn trip to the Vosges and Black Forest. Has anyone towed a caravan along the route from Nancy, via St-Die-des-Vosges on N159/N59 through the Tunnel Maurice Lemaire to Colmar? It looks ok, but would be helpful to know if the route is
reasonably caravan-friendly.  (i.e. no serious hairpins or steep gradients).
