TV in Europe

We have been travelling around France for 3 months now and have a TV with built in Freeview box and a normal status ariel in the caravan roof.  We can get the odd programme in English but would like to get more.  What would be the best way of achieving this.

P.S.  We have actually had sunshine for 2 days now.    Been raining most of the time.
