Bunree or Scotland in general is beautiful but it's hard to commit to visiting it to be met by horizontal rain & low cloud so regularly. It's a big old drive to find you can barely see beyond the next Van. South of the border does seem to have a decent crack
at Summer. The lakes are like Scotland in miniature, with better weatherHappy

Weather's been great the last 3 or 4 weeks Rocky, but I know what you mean.

We once spent a wild evening (weather wise) at North Ledaig sat in the van watch out in the bay an airsea rescue going on. On another occasion we sat with the lights off just watching it get dark and the stars coming out then the moon shimmering across the
water, lovely. Out of the main season its our chill out do nothing place.

TG, I had one of my most enjoyable hols ever(& ive been to most of the worlds hol hotspots) at New England bay with temps not below 22c it was a dream. But my time in Scotland has been far from that for the rest of the time, pity but trueSad

I'm glad people like Bunree, for a first glimpse of what the Highlands can offer it's a great place (even though it's not my favourite. Wink )
If the CC had a few more sites in Scotland the choice would be even better and people might fall in love with a few more places. Smile

May I offer a bit of advice for those contemplating visiting places of outstanding scenery and beauty such as the Nation of Scotland.

Don't think there will be wall to wall good weather or that the wind won't blow a few gales or that there won't be the dreaded wee beasties or that there will be no rain. Without a good rainfall  there would be no lovely Lochs and Rivers. The weather makes Scotland what it is.

So if people dont like those natural occuring events, best to avoid Scotland and holiday elsewhere.

Leave Scotland with all it's natural grandeur to those who appreciate what it has to offer.

    Smile

Yes as per the thread title --- I love Bunree and most of the other rural sites in my homeland. Cool

Surely only the completely naive would expect to find glorious south coast weather in the far north? I've done Scotland in all weathers and, as with England and Wales, you expect rain and winds at times especially on the west coast.

This north <----> south thing is all relative. To me Blackpool is "south", and quite far south at that.   To the man from the Orkneys, Wick is south.

I dont expect there to be no rain in the south of England, just that it will be warm(ish) rain.  And thats based on the 22 degrees I enjoyed today.

I think you're missing my point, Nav, but no matter.

Bunree beach pitches do give a superb view. The other ptches are a bit regimantl. Remember non awning pitches on the front so be careful when booking on line. Still no guarantee of a bech side pitch.
