CC rates for channel crossing

I know previous threads on here have often commented that the CC rates are no better than booking direct.

We are going over next week by tunnel (if the immigrants let us). Car & van one way booking direct, was £187, plus £17 for the dog.

CC was £170 plus £17 for the dog, so I booked through the club and in effect got the dog free.
