Saint Jean de Monts to Le Havre - Overnight Stop

Evening all! Due to travel to Le Havre from Saint Jean de Monts at the end of our holiday and wanted to do an overnight somewhere en route that wouldn't leave too much to do the next day....ferry sails at 5pm.....Michelin suggests the A84 Caen....if anyone
could recommend a site I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance, Roger.
