Le Havre to Saint-Jean-du-Monts

Afternoon all. Have just booked what will be only my second trip to France this August after a successful trip to Brittany last year......Just wondering if anyone has done this journey and has any prefered route as ViaMichelin and Google Maps suggests two,
the first via Caen/Rennes/Nantes and the other via Alencon/Le Mans/Angers/Nantes. The first route according to the site has lower toll's......any thoughts would be appreciated. 

Also, can anyone recommend a site say within an hour of Le Havre for my return trip just to overnight in which is relitively easy to find.......Again any suggestions greatly appreciated. Cheers, Roger.
