£4 a day to use awning. Reasonable or not?

We've just returned from a four day break with the caravan.  On booking I was informed that the charge for using an awning was an extra £4 a day.  I asked if that meant we would get a bigger pitch and was told no, we would get the same pitch even if we didn't
use an awning.  I then asked what additional benefit or service. I was getting to justify the extra charge.  I was told that it was company policy to charge for an awning.  I had no choice but to pay up (this time) but I resent paying money for nothing in
return and am unlikely to return to that particular site.  What do others feel on this issue?
