E15/E70 instead of A6 through Lyon

Greetings all, has anyone ever used the E15/E70 route round Lyon instead of the awful A6 route through Lyon. Just wondering if the E15 would be better. It's 14miles extra onto the journey but there never seems to be the hold ups on this route that the A6 suffers from.
