Hints & Tips: reversing sensors

My Skoda Octavia has reversing sensors and the addition of tow ball and over run plate caused them to always be active when reversing.  I reckoned the sensor used ultra sound and this would reflect off the plate behind the tow ball so I covered the plate
with some closed cell foam (a bit off an old camping Karimat) and the problem seems solved.
