Good service from an old 'un
There was a thread some time ago about how long do you keep your van, now buried somewhere. Last week I camped next to a 1980 Dormobile Deauville on a mk2 Transit. The owners bought it new when apparently it was van of the year. So, 36 years later and 183000
miles, it is still giving good service and takes them as far as Spain each year. Amazing, and an interesting guy to chat to with many tales to tell.

We started with a 1984 Safari. It was brilliant and we've never known beds as comfortable since. We now have a 2005 Coachman VIP and came away from the CC Show last year quite happy to keep it. They don't make 'em like they used to!

There is a site that we visit most years in southernFrance and there are mainly Dutch caravans. A large number of the vans are very old; 20 years is quite common. They have never mentioned damp problems!

We had our last caravan for 8 years which is the longest we have kept a van. We have had our current motorhome for almost 3 years and the plan at the moment is to keep that for a long time. Would love to have saw the old Transit you were talkng about I love
seeing classics out and about0 -
We had a Coachman Mirage gor ten years and apart from an appetite for water pumps never had any problems. It lasted that long with us as we simply did not find anything we felt justified swapping it for and it was only family changes that meant we no longer
needed a five berth that got us to change at all.0
