Looking for a motorhome and am concerned that some may not have a payload fit for purpose. Am I worrying too much?

What is an essential allowance?

I assume that the driver is already included but I’ll need another passenger, plus   personal stuff (bedding, towels, clothing…). I don’t think a gas bottle (or two) is included, nor kitchen equipment, cutlery, crockery, food & drink.

Has anyone actually weighed or worked out what a workable minimum is?

I imagine that there are a lot of vehicles travelling around that are over weight.
