prescription medication, getting it in Europe.
Hubby takes prescription medication, since leaving the forces, we have discovered that civilian doctors will only prescribe a max of three months medication. We have discussed with the doctor our planned trip to Europe and the need for more than 3 months
supply, they have said they cannot give more than 3 months under any circumstances, which seems to be the same advice we have found on the government sites. The only solution they offered was a private prescription which you pay for to cover the additional
medication. We are ok to pay for this although I did make my feelings clear on the subject of a retired member of the forces having to pay for medication, which is normally free, and is needed as a direct result of injuries sustained during service, to no
avail. We are now wondering is there any other way, an easier way to get medication.whilst away? He is dependent on the medication so at no point can we risk having it run out. It is fairly bulky too so would be easier if we are paying for it anyway to get
it whilst away, but not sure how easy this is, can we pre arrange with English speaking clinics in Spain, Portugal etc to go to them and have his medication prescribed? Hopefully there are members out there who encounter the same issues? Thanks in advance
