Campsites in the Italian Lakes

For a change, this year, we plan to visit the Italian lake district during our annual "grand tour".  I've read a couple of blogs and have already considered a couple of sites taken from the ACSI book and from the 2014 Camping Cheque book. (Unfortunately
the Club does not send out this years CC book until March). Has anyone any recommendations for a site on lake Como or perhaps one on lake Lugano? As we will be there at the end of May, an ACSI or Camping Cheque site would be preferred.  There seems to be a
dearth of sites on these lakes which probably indicates difficulty of access.

I have tentatively selected a site - Camping Ranoccio at Piano di Porlezza - This is located between the two lakes.  If anyone has been there and can give information, I'd appreciate it.

We have a compass twin bed caravan, which we tow with a Ford Mondeo.  We will approach the lakes from the south-east (Venice), and I am aware that one side of lake Como is not suitable for towed caravans.  Perhaps someone can give me some more information
about that too.
