Family site Spain

Hi

Any suggestions for a site in Spain, not more than a third of the way down maximum. An excellent pool complex, maybe with slides etc and a sandy beach would be nice. We have an 12 year old. Travelling next summer, school holidays.

Thanks

Peter

As AD says lots of sites. We have stayed at L'Amfora at Sant Pere Pescador and it is right on the beach and has a good pool, maybe not excellent, but with the beach so close it did not seem over used. We liked the site, but it may not suit a 12 year old,
and visited in low season using Camping Cheques, but in August any sites that fit your requirements are likely to be very full and very expensive so good that you are planning now!

Camping Playa Bara, south of Barcleona, might be just the site you are looking for! However, rather than tow all the way down there, you might be better booking a family tent or mobilhome through canvas holidays or similar. They also take touring motorhomes
    and caravans. Here's a

With a 12 year old I would second Las Dunas. There is also El Defin Verde also popular with families but their pool does not have slides. Neither are cheap in peak season.

Slightly further south near Tarragona / Salou is Camping Playa Montroig which has a pool complex with slides. It is in the ACSI book although that doesn't help in peak season when all these sites become expensive.

Camping Enmar at Pineda del Mar fits the bill. Good pool with slides. Beach a very close walk away. In the town so everything within walking distance. Train service along the coast if you want to travel. Not sure about August but we loved September/October.

We have stayed at Cala Gogo at Platja d'Aro and it has a beach plus a pool with lots to do although it's a bit hilly or rather terraced but great location. It is no more than a 2 hr drive from the French border.
