Charging the vehicle battery

I have a 2008 Autoquest on a Peugeot Boxer, purchased this summer. I had planned to use my CTEK charger to keep the vehicle battery fully charged over the winter months. Unfortunately the dash mounted aux socket seems to be connected only when the ignition
is on so I can't use that to connect to the battery.

Can anyone offer suggestions or a work around because I can't be doing with crocodile clips under the bonnet!

Also can anyone tell me where the vehicle battery is mounted? It seems to be rather well hidden.
