Air awning has distorted my Fiamma

We bought an air awning last week to fit into the rail on our Fiamma F45 awning. All was fine until the morning after we erected it. I noticed that there was a large gap around the centre section of the Fiamma case and now it won't retract fully and lock
in place.  It appears as though the air awning has damaged the case.  Should the centre section of a Fiamma lock in place or does it just lock each end?
