Some friendly advice
While taking my dog for a walk along a country lane he cocked his leg into the hedgerow. Only then did I notice he had peed on quite a lot of almost ripe blackberries.
My friendly advice is not to pick any blackberries from low lying bushes.

We have a not nice anti dog person living near us, Nevers. I've seen him picking from low down on several occasions but I never seem to have had time to pass on that advice.

Unwritten rule in our house is never pick from below thigh height!
If anyone is travelling to SW this September (like us!) some of the best blackberries we have ever seen can be found at Sedgemoor Services, South bound! Huge, we filled a carrier bag and had a crumble three nights running!

Further to Nevers helpful advice-never pick them after the end of September as the Devil has spat on them, don't take my word for it ask
Grandma Gladys from down the Village She told me. A big thankyou to Grandma Gladys for Her sage advice0 -
Despite Grandma Gladys advice and grandma Ediths advice I still pick blackberries in October and enjoy them!

Favourite place is along a lane in..... No.... I'm not giving it away
Being tall we always try to pick from as high as possible, often the biggest and juiciest as they get more sun. Looking forward to some big blueberries from the garden if the blackbird doesn't get them all first

Our first dog, in our 2nd house pee'd on our tom plants, they did really well that year, but tasted like a swimming pool and were spat out and mouth rinsed with lots of wine. Raised boarders there after
