Sitting in our caravan at Baltic Wharf CC Site a caravan passed and started to pull out of the Site. Big Bang and car left and caravan stopped in the road. We all went to help, as suspected the caravan had become uncoupled from the car and the breakaway
cable had done its work and applied the brakes fully on. The 13 pin plug had been pulled out and the hitch was on the ground. We manhandled the Caravan back onto the car and the van was pulled over to the kerbside. Owner rang Mayday and eventually breakdown
van arrived. Car 13 pin socket found to be faulty so owner drove home in the car and Maday are to pick up his van and take it to their local caravan dealer to be checked over. Owner was convinced that he had hitched up correctly and when we re-coupled the
hitch seemed fine and certainly locked on. SO DO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR COUPLING IS LOCKED ON before departure. Fortunately because he was Mayday covered they will pick up the van and deliver to his local dealer. Most breakdown companies do not cover this so check.
