campsites or aires convenient for santander

Going to Portugal via spain late February and wondered if anyone out there can reccomend a campsite or aire for the first night in spain. We don't want to drive too far after the long ferry crossing and are not really bothered about facilities as long as
it is secure and easy to reach. We will be travelling down to Portugal the next day so any further advice/ recommendations would also be very welcome.Thanks.

Camping Virgen del Mar is not far from Santander port. It is open now. A quick look at Google Maps will show where it is around the back of Santander. It is about 10km from the port. There is a web site for
it. A route we have used to the Algarve is Santander, Tordesillas, Carceres, Evora and then Lagos.

We have chosen Cabo Mayor as it's the closest to the ferry which in our case arrives at 18:15 but have yet to book it.
