Do I need to buy a 4 x 4 SUV

I have only ever towed my caravans with a saloon car and presently tow a Coachman VIP 535 by a Merc E class 320CDI.

I know that this is not an 85% match but I would like to be able to tow my van without the towing vehicle being effected by the movement of the van. What I can only describe as 'pitching'.

I appreciate that if the towing vehicle is a lot heavier than the van, the movement will be less.

I intend to change my van soon to one weighing in at 1685kg so I will have to change my towcar.

Finally got to the question :- Does that mean I will have to go down the route of buying a 4 x 4 SUV.

Even if I don't find a new caravan I like I want to stop the 'pitching movement'
