Driving Licences abroad.

Like many members I take out Red Pennant when I travel abroad. It includes car hire, if my car becomes unavailable due to breakdown. I did hire a car a few years ago when my Citroen needed a spare part, not available locally. However I hope that I won't need a hire car this year, due to the confusion caused by DVLA doing away with the paper part of the licence. There is a very worrying article in today's Guardian about the consequences for people hiring a car abroad. It is worth a read for anybody expecting to hire a car whilst on holiday. It would seem that there is even more stress added if we have the misfortune to break down abroad. I hope that the club's foreign touring department will offer some advice before my holiday in July.
