Does size really matter

I need some advice please, I am in the process of looking for a new tow car. I am looking at purchasing a 4WD diesel VW 2.0 Tiguan, however I am not sure as to whether to go for a 150PS or a 184PS engine. The latter being more expensive. At the present time
my tow car has engine of 138bhp which is fine on the flat but struggles on the hills which is why we are changing. At present I tow a Bailey Pursuit 5 berth caravan which is reasonably light but next year looking to change to 6 berth probably with a 1435 weight.
I ask as I no nothing about engine power, hope for some help. Thanks
