Any body else used the Caravan Club breakdown service which goes through Greenflag?

My inlaws car broke down on January 1st and they are still waiting for it to be brought back to the UK! Thankfully on this trip they didnt have thier caravan with them.

However, they did have thier cat with them and we were on holiday with the inlaws too. Greenflag dont cover pets in thier "cover" ie they dont pay for pets to be brought back to the UK. The inlaws were offered a hire car to Calais, then the ferry or Eurotunnel
back to the UK as a foot passenger then a hire car back home. They would have had to be a foot passenger on the train or ferry but neither allow pets on board if you are a foot passenger. Greenflags suggestion was to ask a friend to drive over and collect
the cat! Luckily we were with them so we brought them and thier cat and as much belongings as possible with us in our car. The rest is in thier car. Greenflag also dont cover personal items left in the car so there may be no alcohol left by the time it gets
back home.

Its a good job the inlaw dont need thier car to commute to work as 3 weeks on it would have been an expensive hire car cost plus the cost of repair once thier car is back here.

After thier experience we are thinking we wont take out the Caravan Clubs breakdown cover as we have 2 cats and we DO need our cars for commuting. Not very impressed and what on earth happens if they did have a caravan with them?
