Touring caravan to Italian Lakes and Austria

We are thinking g of going to the Italian Lakes and Austria next year, starting in May and returning probably sometime in July (we are retired so no restriction on time).  has anyone got any recommendations for routes and/or stop-overs.  Many thanks.
